A FAKE MOBIL EMPLOYEE WHO SPECIALIZES IN STEALING PHONES FROM WOMEN ARRESTED IN EKET.

The Police have smashed a syndicate Bank of persons who specializes in stealing mobile phones from the ladies they lure from outside the state to several hotels in Eket city.

Our sources disclose that the mode of operations of the gang begins be with chatting up unsuspected female victims. After series of chat with their target, they will tell girl, lady or woman depending on her age grade that her photograph is very clear and beautiful. If she falls for the hype, the criminals will enquire further to know the type and brand of Mobile phone, just to know whether the phone is worth inviting thier female victims to Eket or Uyo.

Earlier today one member of the gang, Mr. Gabriel Akang from Ikot Andem in Itu local government area, but who parades himself as Mike Adebiyi ( fake ExxonMobil staff) was arrested and is cooling off at Eket Police station, Esuene way Eket.

Our also disclose that Mr Abasifreke from Idua Eket, one of the partners of this organized criminal syndicate who has also in Police custody reveals that the gang sells up to 20 hybrid Mobile phone weekly because they have network of standby buyers in the Phone plaza at Eket and Uyo who help them wipe any phone and reset it to factory settings.

The source added that a scrutinised CCTV footage from the hotel help the police track Gabriel Akang ( fake Mike Adebiyi) arrested him and recovered several mobile phones from him at Uyo plaza. He was found to be involved in mobile phone thefts and other criminal activities.

Meanwhile, our source have suggested that to eliminate completely the rampant Phone theft and snatching in Eket LGA in particular and Nigeria in general, anyone coming for repairs or upgrade of mobile phones must always come with their buying receipt and identify card before any additional services could rendered to them.

As at the time of writing this report, the Police are on top of the matter.
