Traders Lament As Fire Razes Down Shops In Cross River

An unlike fire inferno has razed down over 15 shops at Obudu local government area main market of Northern Cross River State, Focus Naija can authoritatively report.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred during the morning hours of Friday, as shops and goods worth millions of Naira were all burnt to ashes.

One Mr. Ndubuisi that spoke with Focus Naija said his shop was completely burnt as efforts to quench the fire was in vain.

“The fire started from the other end of my shop. It was as a result of a high voltage power supply. We are suspecting illegal connection or the wires there are not properly connected”, he said.

The market people called on the government to help them in trying times like this with relief materials to start from somewhere.
