Gunmen chanting “allahu akbar” overrun three katsina christian communities
Gun men chanting “Allahu akbar” in Nigeria’s northern Katsina state, has overran three christian communities killing at least six people in the attack, Vanguard reports.
Confirming the attack, Gambo Isah disclosed that the gunmen who were riding on motorcycles, firing guns and launching rocket propelled grenades sacked Makers, Dan Sabau and Pawwa villages in Kankara district late Sunday.
The gunmen has their camps in the vast Rugu forest which straddles Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna and Niger states, from where they launch attacks.
Isah said, “Six people from the attacked villages were killed but we killed many of the bandits in a shootout that lasted for more than an hour,”
He also said police officers were already combing the bushes for the remains of the assailants.
