Following the increase in sex-related crimes and molestation of women and young girls nationwide, there is being intensified campaign for the creation of a s ex crimes unit in the Nigerian Police Force.

According to renowned Nigerian-American investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, who is the arrowhead of the campaign, a creation of the s ex crimes department will help to tackle and nip sexual molestation in the bud.

The unit which will monitor and prevent sexual crimes before they occur, will also be saddled with the responsibility of keeping record of convicted sexual predators and handled rape cases to avoid a situation where an ex-convict who had done his time for a crime will be re-arrested for such or women activists like Tonto Dikeh will go demanding for justice over improper documentation.
