Four years is too long a time to wail, we saw this coming – Ibebe Rufus

Hon Ibebe Rufus Akpobome, Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Ughelli North Chapter has expressed distaste for the ruling People’s Democratic Party in Delta State over its sustained modus operandi of appointing only old and worn out politicians to the detriment of capable youths who were used to secure electoral victory.

Reiterating his stand on PDP’s shortchanging the youths after using them vigorously for campaigns, Ibebe Rufus who wrote on his online journal MY VIEW, also revealed that lack of internal democracy and disunity in the Delta State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress, has made several youths with the same political ideology to fight themselves just to show loyalty to political godfathers and control party structures.

He wrote:

“I don’t like PDP government in Delta state because I hate  it’s policy of recycling one set of persons for positions while asking youths to stay on the QUEUE for appointment or to be engaged meaningfully (engaged meaningfully here goes beyond being appointed as Special Assistants).

He continued,

“The truth be told, PDP boast of the best crop of youthful politicians in the state who are doing great in planning, implementation and execution of party’s plans even without  adequate mobilization.

“These youths are very instrumental to the party’s growth and development during electioneering period but are quickly pushed aside and relegated to the background immediately appointment and empowerment surface at the detriment of the growth and progress of the younger ones.
