Ministerial appointments for Former Akwa Ibom Senator, Godswill Akpabio and immediate past executive governor of Lagos State, Akinwumi Ambode is being confirmed to focusnaija.
A source within the presidential villa who confirmed the duo as first eleven appointments in the next level team, also revealed that Akpabio will be the minister for Niger Delta affairs, while Ambode, will be saddled with the responsibility of overseeing budget and economic planning ministry.
Disclosing further, our source said that former River State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi who oversaw the transportation ministry in the last tenure will be retained as finishing touches to forward the list of nominees to the national assembly for consideration is in top gear.
Recall, a statement by the Director of Communications, Wunmi Ogunmosunle, earlier announced that Buhari approved the re-appointment of Ahmed Idris as the accountant-general of the federation.
The statement read: “The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr Ahmed Idris for the second and final term of four years as Accountant General of the Federation, AGF, in accordance with Section 171 of the 199 Constitution of Nigeria (as amended).”
Idris was first appointed in June 2015, to replace Jonah Otunla who had resigned.
