A concerned resident of Isodje-Oteri neighborhood in Ughelli North local government area of Delta State has appealed to the state government or the Niger Delta Development Commission to intervene on the poor state of roads in the area.

Sharing photos on facebook to seek intervention, a resident identified as Akpomedawaro Ike revealed that the condition of interlinking roads in the area is in bad shape and inaccessible whenever it rains.

He wrote;

It is suffering and smiling for residents of Isodje-Bioku Neighborhood in Oteri as access roads are not only deplorable but eyesores whenever it rains.

Isodje-Bioku neighborhood which houses three private schools, many churches and an orphanage: is home to prominent business men, civil servants both working and retired, police officers and community leaders.

It is saddening that a suburb of it’s nature would lack good access roads, whose fault is not in my business to know.

This write-up, not intended to ridicule anybody or group, is aimed at awakening a collective responsibility to get the roads fixed.

Calling on those responsible to do the needful, I invite you to see the plight that motorists struggle through every morning while plying the condemned roads to meet up their various commitments.

Car owners are either at the mercy of sinking their cars or repairing them in short intervals while no car owners endure ridiculous bike fares as motorcycle riders take delight in increasing fares, sometimes inflating it three times the usual price when it rains leaving the passenger(s) with no option but to board.

On behalf of the suffering and smiling residents of Isodje-Bioku neighborhood in Oteri, I call on the government and relevant agencies to come to our rescue.
